Job Summary
The Inside Sales Specialist plays a proactive role in managing and developing medium-sized customers (approximately less than $25k), those nearing 90% of their growth potential, and customers who cannot be effectively serviced by Outside Sales. In coordination with Customer Service, Field Support, Outside Sales, and Management, this team serves as the backbone of active account management. Inside Sales Specialists must demonstrate exceptional professionalism, customer service skills, and technical expertise. They are the primary point of contact for customer outreach, follow-ups, and lead generation.
Essential Functions
- Embody the ARG Industrial Core Values of authenticity, taking ownership, being helpful and collaborative, having a desire to elevate and evolve, and exhibiting grit.
- Manage and grow assigned accounts through frequent proactive phone contact (approx. 15-20 calls per day).
- Build customer loyalty through personalized service, exceeding customer expectations and fostering long-term relationships.
- Identify customer needs and value drivers and recommend appropriate solutions, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the company’s products and services.
- Pro-actively reach out to new customers, customers who have declined, and leads.
- Make the initial follow up for new business after the Outside has made contact.
- Participate in weekly opportunity reviews.
- Daily CRM use and input.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
- Position primarily operated in an office setting, utilizing standard office equipment including telephones, computer systems and relevant software.
- May experience extended period of sitting.
- Occasional physical activities associated with visiting various customer locations.
- Regularly lifting and carrying objects (up to 40 pounds).
- Working in quiet to moderately noisy environments, normal for warehouse and industrial environments.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Occasionally managing a challenging and high-pressure situation requiring composure.
Minimum Qualifications
- Successfully pass drug test screenings throughout employment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish connections.
- Attentive listening skills to understand customer needs and respond appropriately.
- Basic knowledge of customer service principles, focusing on exceptional customer experiences.
- Ability to handle customer complaints and inquiries professionally, seeking to provide satisfactory resolutions.
- Proficient in using computers and relevant software applications to process customer-related tasks such as Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM software.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle customer interactions effectively.
- Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Previous experience in sales and customer service role is preferred.
