Our Field Service Technicians are responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on dairy equipment and systems at customer locations. You will be fabricating and installing equipment and maintain parts inventory. Your technical expertise and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in diagnosing and resolving issues, ensuring minimal downtime, and maximizing productivity for our customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, as outlined below.
- Surveys, plans, installs, and programs custom equipment and systems at customer locations.
- Inspects and advises on equipment and handling of Specialty Sales products.
- Performs plumbing and electrical fabrication of all systems Specialty Sales, LLC installs or services.
- Performs troubleshooting, repairs, and replacement of equipment and systems that have been installed, employing appropriate tools, equipment, and diagnostic methods.
- Maintains accurate records of service activities, inducing repairs, maintenance schedules, and inspections.
- Works collaboratively with Dairy Account Managers for repairs and inspections of equipment, as needed.
- Maintains parts inventory and has appropriate equipment, tools, and parts available while on location.
- Adheres to safety protocols and guidelines while working at customer locations, ensuring safety of self and others. Uses required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Reports all accidents, possible injuries and vehicle damage, safety issues, driving citations/traffic violations and customer complaints, to include service interruptions immediately to their manager.
- Other duties and projects may be assigned.
Education and Experience
1. Requires a high school diploma/GED.
2. Basic knowledge and experience of plumbing, welding and electrical wiring.
3. Strong equipment troubleshooting and repair ability.
Certification
1. Prefer a valid forklift certification.
2. Have and maintain a valid driver’s license, in the state of residence, and a safe driving record meeting the company’s vehicle policy and insurability standards.
