Description

The Inventory Specialist position will maximize profits and reputation of the Company by managing all inventory needs and saw requirements for manufacturing activities. Maintain a high level of work quality, responsiveness and efficiency of all processes. This role will require leadership qualities, general technical knowledge, purchasing, saw work and ability to read a tape measure and shop drawings.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • The Inventory Specialist is responsible for directing and maintaining an effective inventory and shipping/receiving program to assure no production delays in the manufacturing process.
  • Responsible for receiving most components and following processes to ensure all parts ordered were received and all packing slips & MTRs are filed appropriately.
  • Keep track of any backordered items to ensure components will be received and jobs completed.
  • Work with Manufacturing Coordinator to ensure all Order BOMs are accessible in Production Folders.
  • Responsible for pulling and staging job boxes based on Order BOMs to keep flow of shop moving and putting unused materials back into inventory at job completion (clean up pallets/crates that components arrive in).
  • Utilize shop drawings provided for cutting pipe and/or structural steel for each job.
  • Willingness to run errands as needed and deliver orders to customers from time to time.
  • Support and participate in a safe work environment and safety program for all employees.
  • A willingness to cross train and assist in other shop functions as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent   
  • Certified to operate a forklift. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel).

Minimum Experience: 

  • 2-3 years inventory and/or shipping & receiving experience (1-2 years within oil & gas industry).
  • 1-2 years saw cutting experience. 

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: Driver License

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to life 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking/sitting
  • Manual dexterity and mobility
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching
  • Visual and auditory acuity

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Shop and office, potentially a high stress environment with prolonged hours. 
  • Driving, walking, sitting and some lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
  • Computer work. 
  • Significant time spent in a manufacturing environment. 
  • 40 hours per week which may include some early mornings, late evenings, and weekends. 
  • Overtime as required.
