Mackin Educational Resources is a 40-year-old Minnesota-based company known nationally for distributing both print and digital content to school libraries and classrooms as well as our legendary customer service. Our resources include library books, eBooks, classroom libraries, online educational databases, audio books and read-along books for PK – 12 schools. Additionally, we provide makerspace design and fulfillment services along with professional learning services for libraries and classrooms. Mackin released our newest product, MackinVISION, our state-of-the-art whole-school Library Resource Management System in 2024. Mackin contracts with over 18,000 publishers and producers. Our online ordering database features over 3.5 million print titles and 2.5 million digital titles. 


We are seeking a dynamic and qualified Sales Consultant to cover:

  • State of Arizona
  • State of New Mexico
  • Texas, ESC Regions 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 

Responsibilities

  • Contact prospective customers and effectively communicate Mackin’s numerous services and product lines.
  • Create and/or design custom services to meet individual customer needs.
  • Develop customer relationships, facilitate orders, and establish mutually beneficial partnerships with both new and existing customers.
  • Position Mackin as an educational partner to school districts.
  • Follow up on leads from multiple sources.
  • Drive sales to achieve targeted sales goals.
  • Responsible for revenue generation.
Requirements
  • Ability to market products and deliver sales results.
  • Ability to uncover customer needs and present solutions that benefit both the customer and Mackin.
  • Understanding of the principles and processes for providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a defined territory, and collaborate with multiple people and departments.
  • Ability to learn, develop product knowledge, and react quickly.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills leading to high closure rates.
  • Familiarity with library practices and overall educational practices.
  • Applicants must reside in Texas and hold a valid Texas driver’s license.

Education & Experience

  • Knowledge of the PK-12 education industry is helpful but not mandatory.
  • Sales experience is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High energy and positive attitude.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Minimum 4-year college degree.

Compensation

  • Base salary plus commission
  • Salary range including commission: $75,000 - $130,000
