Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts, weekends and holidays as needed

Position Description:  

The  Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance, repair, and upkeep of building systems, equipment, and facilities. This role ensures the efficient operation, safety, and longevity of all physical assets through inspections, repairs, and collaborative problem solving. 


Essential Duties/ Responsibilities may include the following or other duties as assigned: 

  • Perform a variety of hands-on maintenance and repairs, including electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing. 
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance. 
  • Report faulty operations, defective materials, system failures, and major issues to the Maintenance Manager. Provide regular updates on maintenance operations. 
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed on equipment and machinery. 
  • Respond promptly to work orders and maintenance requests from staff. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and local codes while following safety protocols during all maintenance activities. 
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on procedures, safety protocols, and maintenance policies. 
  • Assist with the install of new equipment, upgrade systems, and address urgent issues promptly. 
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment. 
  • Assist with coordination of external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services, assist with obtaining quotes. 
  • Maintain a professional, courteous, and approachable appearance and demeanor at all times. 
  • Collaborate with other departments, including the warehouse or production, to meet maintenance and project needs. 
  • Perform related duties and assist others as required or assigned by the Maintenance Manager. 
Requirements

 Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:  To succeed in this role, candidates must be able to perform the essential duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening. 
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals. 
  • Strong problem solving and trouble shooting skills with ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently or as part of a team. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend checklists, complex instructions, memos, etc.   
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. 
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and logistic software. 
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication, both written and verbal; Ability to effectively communication across departments and teams. 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age 
  • High school diploma or equivalent (additional technical certifications in maintenance or related fields preferred). 
  • Hands on experience with equipment and systems maintenance operations, including  areas such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and mechanical. 
  • OSHA-compliant forklift operating training and certification preferred. 
  • Certification in electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is a plus.

  • Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, using hands, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • The ability to work in noisy conditions as the environment is typically noisy. 
  • Strong vision, including the ability to focus on close and distant objects, and the ability to use computer equipment and barcode scanners. 
Salary Description
$22.82-$31.09/hour
