Riverside Healthcare is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Cath Lab to oversee the operations of the Cath Lab department. The Director will be responsible for leading a dedicated team in the delivery of high-quality cardiovascular care, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, managing department operations, and fostering an environment of continuous improvement. The successful candidate will demonstrate leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Cath Lab, ensuring optimal performance and delivery of high-quality care.
- Lead, mentor, and develop Cath Lab staff, fostering an environment of collaboration and professional growth.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards (e.g., Joint Commission, AHA).
- Develop and implement policies and procedures that align with best practices and organizational goals.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure effective patient care and streamlined procedures.
- Manage departmental budgets, including resource allocation, equipment maintenance, and cost control.
- Ensure the appropriate and efficient use of technologies, equipment, and supplies.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track department performance and implement improvements where needed.
- Provide education, training, and ongoing support for staff and physicians to maintain best practices in cath lab procedures.
- Maintain and analyze reports related to outcomes, patient safety, and department efficiency.
- Participate in hospital leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning for the hospital's cardiovascular services.
- Promote a culture of patient safety, quality care, and continuous improvement.
Nonessential Duties:
- Participate in community outreach and education programs as needed.
- Represent Riverside Healthcare at conferences, seminars, and other professional events.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection of new staff for the Cath Lab.
- Provide support for other hospital departments during times of need, such as during emergency situations or special projects.
- Collaborate with other healthcare facilities and organizations to promote continuous education and improvement in cardiovascular care.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Cath Lab environment.
- 3+ years of progressive leadership or management experience in a healthcare setting, with a focus on cardiovascular care or interventional radiology.
- Experience in budget management, staffing, and resource allocation within a clinical environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams in a high-pressure, fast-paced setting.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, safety standards, and compliance within a Cath Lab or related clinical environment.
Preferred Experience:
- Prior experience as a Cath Lab Manager or in a similar leadership role.
- Familiarity with the latest cardiovascular technologies and innovations.
- Knowledge of the financial and operational aspects of managing a Cath Lab.
- Experience in building and maintaining relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers.
Required Licensure/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Health Administration, Clinical Science, or a related field.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois, or equivalent clinical licensure.
- Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
Preferred Education:
- Master’s degree in Health Administration (MHA), Nursing (MSN), or Healthcare Leadership.
- Certification in Cardiovascular Interventional Technology (CVIT) or Cardiovascular Nurse (RN-BC).
- Leadership training or certification in healthcare management.
