Donor Services Center Shift Team Lead

Job purpose

In addition to fulfilling the duties of either a Donor Management Coordinator or Donor Development Coordinator this position acts in a supervisory manner to ensure that all referrals are properly received, documented, triaged and assigned. The Donor Services Center Team Lead will also be responsible for training of all new staff assigned to his or her shift. All staffing issues are forwarded to Supervisor appropriately and in a timely fashion, issues with equipment or facilities are reported and handled appropriately, all protocols and procedures are followed to ensure the safety of staff, and all responsibilities of teams on shift are fulfilled in accordance with DSLF Donor Services Foundation Policies and Protocols.   


Duties and responsibilities

JOB DUTIES (in addition to those outlined in Donor Management Coordinator Job Description): 

  1. Documents and reports in communication log, any staffing issues (call outs/no shows/tardiness/leaving early), performance concerns or violations of any DSLF Donor Services Foundation HR policies, then notifies appropriate Supervisor immediately.
  2. Immediately reports any software, equipment (phone/computer/recording/printing), facilities or safety issues by contacting appropriate entity (BTM & LAORAIS tech support staff/IT/Shoretel/Canon/UM & LSTP Security) and notifying Supervisor/Manager.
  3. Ensures that all staff on shift are safely evacuated and accounted for in the event of a mandatory evacuation of the building when working shift on-site at LSTP Building.
  4. Assumes responsibility for the reporting of cases at shift change and reviews communication log for any items reported during previous shifts. 
  5. Facilitates the work-up of potential tissue cases by prioritizing and assigning cases.
  6. Leads DART calls during shift.
  7. Ensures that all protocols are followed to maximize every donor opportunity during shift to include donor prioritization based on age, time of death and Medical Examiner jurisdiction cases  
  8. Acts as in house administrator on call oversee, review and screen all referrals and authorized tissue donors.   
  9. QCs all case paperwork for all legal and Regulatory/AATB Standards violations or inconsistencies and per DSLF SOP.
  10. Other duties as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications

  • Prefer BA or BS degree. Medical background preferred.
  • Prefer 1-3 years of experience in tissue/organ donation. 
  • Multi-lingual candidate preferred (English, Spanish, and Creole).  
  • Candidate must possess highest level of organizational, professional and communication skills.
  • Candidate must have dependable transportation.  
  • Travel and overnight stays may be required.  
  • Must be available to take weekend and holiday call on a rotating schedule. 
  • May be required to work overnight or weekend shifts. 
  • Must possess excellent communications skills, both oral and written.  
  • Must present professional attitude and appearance at all times.    
  • Coordinators are expected to maintain DSLF Donor Services Foundation supplied equipment and tools necessary to perform all duties of the job from home (when on scheduled call shifts or in emergencies) or office.  
  • CTBS preferred or must be obtained within two years of employment in order to be considered for career advancement. 


The department is operational 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week and 365-days-a-year.
