TITLE: Warehouse/Receiving Associate

Reports To: Director of Operations, Supervisor, Lead



SUMMARY:

This position is primarily responsible for receiving incoming merchandise via scanner into inventory. This position is also responsible for troubleshooting any packing list discrepancies. This position will be providing prices by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Receive incoming materials from venders or other warehouses
  • Assist in unloading trucks and placing items on pallets
  • Study work orders to determine type and quantity of items to be received
  • Verify the quantity and type of each item by matching to packing list/invoice
  • Reject damaged items and/or notate delivery documents.
  • Appropriately record any discrepancies in item, quantity, or type
  • Arrange for received items to be taken into storage areas and staged for the appropriate destination
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to each item to ensure product information is made visible
  • Communicate with customers by providing status of delivery and / or availability
  • Input all quantities and discrepancies into company provided software at the point of receiving
  • Coordinate efforts with other staff to always ensure proper cleanliness and product consolidation of the warehouse areas
  • Assisting in picking, packing and shipping orders out to both or customers and other warehouses

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have above average knowledge of: Microsoft Suite, CRM systems, Point of Service Systems; Internet Software.
