Summary:

This position is responsible for preparing parts for painting by masking off areas that should not be coated. 

Requirements

Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Read and interpret work orders and engineering drawings to determine masking requirements.
  • Use various masking materials, such as tape, paper, and plugs, to cover surfaces and components that should not be coated.
  • Apply masking materials using appropriate techniques to ensure precise coverage.
  • Inspect masked parts to ensure that all required areas are properly covered and protected.
  • Remove masking materials after painting is complete, ensuring that no residue is left behind.
  • Clean and maintain masking equipment and tools.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production goals and quality standards.
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience (Minimum requirements in terms of educational background, work experience, licenses/certifications or other knowledge, skills, and abilities):

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in masking or painting in a manufacturing or automotive environment preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and techniques.
  • Demonstrated high level of mechanical hand-eye coordination. 
  • Ability to use all necessary inspection tools.
  • Positive attitude, and ability to work independently and as a member of a team.  
  • Ability to maintain a high concentration level while doing repetitive work.



Salary Description
$16.40/hr to $24.14/hr
