Summary:
The Accountant 1 role is an entry-level position that supports the CFO and the controller. You will be responsible for various accounting tasks, including reconciling accounts and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Your attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of accounting principles will contribute to the accounting department's smooth functioning and the organization's overall financial well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare entries to General Ledger accounts, and documenting/researching business transactions.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors with inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Assists with the collection and preparation of data for state and local sales tax returns.
- Administrator of credit card program.
- Completes petty cash bank reconciliations.
- Reconciles and balances accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of the balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other ad hoc reports.
- Assist with internal audit functions to document and refine processes.
- Assist with annual budget preparation.
- Assist with tracking fixed assets.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or other business degree with relevant experience.
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Experience with Accounting /General Ledger Software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Professionalism and integrity when handling confidential financial information.
