POSITION SUMMARY
Barback helps bartenders and other service staff with a focus on setting up, restocking, and closing down bar areas. A successful Barback should be highly organized, proactive and be able to anticipate the needs of the bar, especially during busier periods of a shift. The ability to work under pressure in a high-paced environment while maintaining the Club’s service standards is required.
This position requires a highly self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Stock glassware before shift starts and continuously wash and restock glassware.
• Fill ice bins and maintain full during the shift.
• Label and check all juices and mixers for freshness.
• Cut and prepare all garnishes used during the shift, making sure there is plenty of back-up ready.
• Help bartender rotate beer and restock.
• Maintain clean bar top areas and help bartenders bus glassware and plates.
• Restock liquor, wine, beer, and bar materials during shift as needed and communicate any out-of-stocks with bar management.
• Assist any member need and communicate any requests to bartenders or management.
• Set up for event and service bars. Set up can include moving bars, stocking alcohol and glasses, cutting and preparing
fresh fruit, syrups and juices.
• Learn bar menu items, including wine-by-the-glasses, cocktails, and beers available.
• Assist in the opening and closing duties for each shift.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply and TABC certified.
• Must be able to frequently lift and carry a minimum of 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand for 8-10 Hours.
• Know and abide by all Club policies and applicable state and local laws when serving alcohol to members and their guests.
• Follow Club procedures for handling and storing food products in a safe and sanitary manner.
• Must treat all members, guests, and team members with respect.
• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
• Flexible availability including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to read menu items.
• Must be able to clearly communicate club members’ needs to other team members. (Bartender or Manager).

EDUCATION
A High School diploma is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 1 year of experience in country clubs, bars, restaurants, hotels in a bar service capacity.
LANGUAGE AND REASONING ABILITY
The ability to speak English is necessary to serve our members and guests. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, members and the general public is important.
It is necessary to have the ability to solve practical problems that may arise. Our team members must have the ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
