We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Product Manager / Product Owner with a strong background in Agile methodologies (SAFE), product management, and Government contracting. As Product Manager / Product Owner, you will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams in delivering complex technical projects, ensuring alignment with customer needs, managing product lifecycles, and maintaining compliance with government requirements. This role will also involve working closely with stakeholders to manage product strategies, product roadmaps, and continuous delivery in a fast-paced environment.
You will work with customers, developers, and product teams to see projects through to completion. You excel at customer expectation management. You are communicative enough to keep myriad internal and external stakeholders informed on project status, organized enough to ensure all deliverables ship at high quality and on time, and savvy enough to spot and mitigate key risks to timely project completion. Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects for government clients, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
- Utilize the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) to lead the team in an Agile delivery environment, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and the successful delivery of value-driven projects.
- Lead the team in Program Increment (PI) Planning sessions to ensure alignment of teams with business goals, priorities, and deadlines. Facilitate the coordination of work across teams as needed and manage dependencies to ensure successful PI outcomes.
- Liaise between teams of engineers and customers to drive successful product deliverables, as defined by adherence to scope, resources, and timeline.
- Work with stakeholders to define and prioritize product features, functionality, and enhancements. Develop and maintain the product roadmap, aligning it with project deliverables and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and product owners to define the product vision, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. Drive product evolution to meet evolving needs.
- Monitor project progress continuously and watch for scope heading off-course, upcoming roadblocks, or deadlines in jeopardy.
- Act as the primary point of contact for government stakeholders, facilitating regular communication and updates, ensuring that project objectives align with client requirements and expectations.
- Communicate proactively with all stakeholders (e.g. product support, implementation team, business owners) to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
- Proactively identify, mitigate, and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle. Provide solutions to ensure project success and minimize disruptions.
- Create detailed status updates on measurable items, such as milestones, deliverables, and risk.
- Oversee and mentor project team, fostering a culture of collaboration and high performance. Provide guidance and resolve issues to keep teams on track.
- Develop detailed project plans while coordinating business and technical personnel during all project phases from initial development through implementation.
- Manage releases in coordination with development and testing resources, ensuring that each release is aligned with product milestones and client expectations.
Required Qualifications:
- All candidates must pass public trust clearance through the U.S. Federal Government. This requires candidates to either be U.S. citizens or pass clearance through the Foreign National Government System which will require that candidates have lived within the United States for at least 3 out of the previous 5 years, have a valid and non-expired passport from their country of birth and appropriate VISA/work permit documentation.
- 4+ years of project/product management experience along with 3+ years of Government contracting experience.
- Experience working with Databricks or similar Data Platform tool.
- Proven experience as a Technical Project Manager with a focus on Agile methodologies, particularly the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
- Strong experience in product management, including managing product roadmaps, prioritization, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Project management experience and ability to manage a project against key timelines and milestones with high attention to detail.
- Experience managing a team of engineers and engaging with product teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to understand and communicate software architecture decisions to external stakeholders and create technical documentation.
- Ability to understand and communicate software architecture decisions to external stakeholders and executive leadership with varying levels of technical acumen.
- Ability to understand product strategy and ensure it is implemented properly on your team.
- Ability to dive deeply into a technical product and effectively assess whether it meets user and business requirements.
- Code management/collaboration experience (key tools include Jira, Confluence, GitHub Enterprise).
- Deployments are a critical aspect of this role.?Candidates must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends, sometimes on short notice, to ensure timely and effective deployment activities.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or other product management certifications are desirable, SAFe Certification preferred (SAFe POPM, SAFe SSM).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) certification is a plus.
- U.S. citizenship as required by the government contract
- Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Working Environment:
eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by manager.
Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
