JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the President of Foodservice the Division Sales Manager for the Food Service Division is responsible for driving revenue growth, expanding into new territories, and securing business with distributors and end-users, including management companies and chain restaurants, within the produce industry. This individual will lead efforts to identify and develop new business opportunities, forge strategic partnerships, and position the organization as a preferred supplier in the food service produce sector. Key responsibilities include developing and executing a sales strategy to expand existing clients portfolios, developing new clients and securing untapped markets. The Division Sales Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of customer needs, optimize product availability, and drive profitability. By leveraging deep industry knowledge and insights, this leader will enhance customer satisfaction while consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for the food service division focusing on new customer acquisition, retention, and expansion opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including food service distributors, restaurant chains, wholesalers, and large institutional buyers.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify new business opportunities and stay ahead of industry shifts.
- Achieve sales revenue and margin goals, managing a portfolio of key accounts to maximize growth potential.
- Track and report on sales performance, analyzing key metrics, and making data-driven adjustments to strategy when necessary.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for new customers, addressing concerns, negotiating terms, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Provide insights into customer needs and market demands to ensure the company’s product offerings remain relevant and competitive.
- Work closely with the quality, operations and supply chain teams to ensure timely delivery and product availability.
- Partner with the finance and accounting departments to track budgets, sales forecasts, and pricing strategies.
- Coordinate with the marketing department to align promotional campaigns, product launches, and customer communication strategies.
- Provide regular sales forecasts, performance updates, and strategic recommendations to the President of Food Service.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the food service industry, with at least 5 years of sales management experience. Produce expertise is a plus.
- Existing relationships with key accounts including distributors, management companies and chain restaurants
- Proven track record of managing and growing sales in a competitive environment, with experience handling large accounts and driving revenue growth.
- Strong knowledge of the produce industry, including product lines, distribution channels, and customer trends.
- Proficiency in sales technology tools, including CRM systems, sales analytics, and forecasting software.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret market data and make informed strategic decisions.
- Must be PC literate, knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
