Description

SUMMARY

 We are seeking a versatile IT Systems Administrator who can effectively research and develop solutions to meet organizational needs, solve technical problems, and tackle technically challenging tasks. As our environment evolves to meet security and organizational needs, this role will play a critical part in driving that process forward. The candidate must be skilled at sourcing external documentation or other resources, adapting them to our unique environment, and creating internal documentation tailored specifically to our organization. 


JOB DESCRIPTION  

The systems administrator will work alongside the IT Manager refining core IT systems, maintaining existing systems and configurations, and developing or deploying new systems while exercising security first practices. The position acts as a wildcard where the focus will change based on current priorities. This will often result in the systems administrator working in environments that they may not have any experience with, requiring them to leverage the vendors documentation and support channels to ensure proper and secure configurations.


Work from Home is dependent on the candidates’ capabilities and the requirements of the current assigned project.  Non-current or future residents will not be considered.

SKILLS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  

  • Configure, manage, and troubleshoot networking equipment, including routers, switches, and firewalls, to ensure optimal performance and security. 
  • Identify and collaborate with vendors to source solutions, manage service agreements, and maintain effective partnerships that align with organizational goals. 
  • Support and manage cloud environments, particularly Azure and Microsoft 365, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency. 
  • Address escalated technical issues from the support team, applying advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex challenges. 
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and documenting IT infrastructure projects, contributing to the organization’s evolving and scalable IT environment. 
  • Monitor system performance to ensure reliability and availability, proactively identifying and mitigating risks. 
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices, adapting innovations to meet the organization’s needs. 
  • Participate in and occasionally lead cross-functional tasks as needed, including cabling, equipment installation, and other physically demanding activities.
  • Developing automation and microservices were needed.
  • Understanding of computer systems (hardware) and the Windows Operating System. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. 
  • Networking Fundamentals
  • Configuring Cloud Environments.
  • Programming / Scripting for Automation or system management. 

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Proven experience in systems administration, networking, or a similar role.

Experience with server management, including Windows Server and Linux.

3+ years’ work experience in a similar role.


EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS  

IT administration working history will be considered.

Familiarity with established IT practices and frameworks.

Certifications or familiarity with ISO27001, ITIL, and/or related standards is a bonus.


WORK CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS    

Work Environment

Primarily office-based, with occasional work in server rooms, data centers, or other environments with controlled conditions.

Some tasks will be performed outdoors or in less controlled environments when installing or repairing equipment.


Physical Demands

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Frequent bending, stooping, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces when pulling cables or mounting equipment.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer.

Dexterity to operate tools and equipment required for cabling and hardware installation.


Travel Requirements

Regular travel between Georgia and Florida locations (up to 25% of the time).

Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.


Work Hours

Standard business hours with occasional evenings and weekends to support system updates, maintenance, or emergencies.


Work From Home

Dependent on the requirements of the current assigned task.
