We are seeking a certified nurses assistant who is dedicated to providing excellent patient service. The Greater New Bedford
Surgi-center strives to provide state of the art eye surgery to all patients. We are looking for compassionate, innovative, dedicated and hard-working individuals to join our team. This role includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complies with Customer Service Standards.
- Measures vital signs (i.e., temperature, pulse rate, blood pressure, oximetry and self-reported pain level), and documents information in patient clinical record.
- Provides nourishment to patients postoperatively.
- Prepares treatment area for patients (cleans, straightens, stocks).
- Inventories facility supplies as delegated.
- Assists with the ordering process of facility supplies as delegated.
- Provides personal care to the patients as directed/delegated by the RN.
- Complies with infection control and safety policies.
- Prepares and maintains accurate documentation of test results and ensures they are reviewed and evaluated by the RN/Anesthesia provider.
- Performs clerical duties as required.
- Transports patients on stretcher chairs.
- Performs decontamination of surgical instruments.
- Performs sterilization of surgical instrumentation.
- Transport of patients to and from the OR via stretcher
- Instrument decontamination and sterilization
- Checking patients in for laser procedures
- Must have a clear understanding of company policies including the company manual

Must possess the physical, mental, and cognitive skills needed to complete essential tasks, including abilities such as learning, remembering, focusing, categorizing, and integrating information for comprehension, problem-solving, and timely decision-making.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an approved Nursing Assistant Program
- Nursing Assistant License
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sitting, Standing, Bending, Reaching, Stooping, Walking and Lifting
- Ability to see, hear, and speak with sufficient capability to perform assigned tasks
- Driving independently to other facilities
- Ability to use keyboard
- Ability to use electronic medical record and scheduling software
