The Supply Chain Administrator/Expeditor focuses on both managing the flow of goods and information and ensuring that orders are expedited efficiently, effectively resolving any delays or supply issues, and ensuring smooth operations in the overall supply chain process. This is a Temporary position estimated for at least 6 months.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Monitor and track all purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of material, follow up with vendors on delivery status, and resolve any discrepancies with shipments.
- Work directly with suppliers and vendors to expedite materials and products to meet production timelines.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers to obtain accurate and up-to-date information on order status, delivery dates, and any potential delays.
- Regularly update the purchasing team and other stakeholders on the status of orders and any potential issues that may arise.
- Assist Buyers with other tasks as needed.
- Coordinate with other departments to align supply chain activities with business needs and objectives.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in supply chain management, logistics, or expediting preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with inventory management, order fulfillment, logistics, and vendor management processes.
Required Skills and Physical Requirements
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office and ability to learn SAP
- Excellent phone, written & interpersonal skills to successfully communicate with suppliers and internal customers at all levels within the organization
- Proactive problem-solving abilities and the capacity to work well under pressure.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
- Occasional standing or walking may be required within an office, warehouse, to oversee inventory, check shipments, or collaborate with other teams.
- Light lifting (up to 10-15 pounds) may be required when handling paperwork, office supplies, or small packages.
