Description

  

The Kitting Supervisor manages the knitting related production area for components needed by the various departments. The Kitting Supervisor must possess in-depth knowledge of kits and processes and assign work to the kitting department to match production requirements. This position assists in the training of all employees assigned to the knitting area to ensure they are trained to the Company’s standards. The Kitting Supervisor interfaces with all other Company Supervisors to ensure customer products are completed and assembled in a timely, accurate, cost effective, safe and quality manner. This position also is a champion for the Davlyn culture, promoting a positive work experience, motivating their team and must approach their responsibilities with a “can do”, team player attitude.

Essential Functions:

  • Reviews orders to determine quantities, and specifications of product and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.
  • Attends required production meetings with the Plant Manager and communicates on projects and interpreting information to ensure on time delivery.
  • Plans kitting operations and establishes priorities and sequences for manufacturing
  • Ensure production and quality of products meet specifications.
  • Conduct training of new employees and existing employees.
  • Monitoring production by reviewing finished goods and detailed final inspection before releasing to ship
  • Solicit and promote a continuous improvement and positive working environment.
  • Lead the team in process improvements.
  • May perform maintenance of machinery as necessary.
  • Interface with Global Shop Solutions ERP Software System.
  • May perform other work/duties as assigned.
Requirements

  

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

  • This is an on-site, full-time, non-exempt position. Workdays are Monday through Thursday from 6:00 AM until 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute, unpaid lunch.
  • Departmental demands may necessitate additional work outside of the standard work hours.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Kitting experience


Supervisory Responsibility:

This position directly supervises the kitting department. 


Travel:

This position does not travel.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. 

  • The work facility may be hot and/or cold, based on the time of year.
  • Many areas of the production floor have a very high noise level. Hearing protection is required in these areas.
  • Regularly work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Tolerate regular contact with fiberglass and fiberglass fibers.
