Deposit Operations Specialist
Description

Primary Function

Provides operational support to branches, departments, and members as it pertains to core processing, deposit operations, IRAs, records management, and systems supporting member service.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensures the proper file maintenance of deceased member accounts. Monitors deceased accounts to ensure proper closure within procedure guidelines and policy requirements.
  • Assists employees with issues/questions regarding account documentation or records management for membership accounts.
  • Participates in necessary compliance training to ensure accurate information is provided to branch staff. Utilizes necessary training tools to maintain knowledge on a variety of account-related topics, including but not limited to Trusts, Business Accounts, and Power of Attorneys.
  • Identify any areas for improvement within the department and within staff procedures. Provide input to develop new policy and procedures.
  • Processes daily, monthly, and annual assigned reports as needed. Performs account maintenance as needed.
  • Scan, index, and commit documents to the Nautilus system for record keeping.
  • Process returned mail, add contacts, and send letters as needed.
  • Obtain, sort, review, file, and balance daily branch work.
  • Balance branch negotiables.
  • Respond to member inquiries and requests.
  • Provide support to staff and members.
  • Audit new consumer, business, and trust accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the IRA program, including reporting, maintenance, document review, and audits. Ensures all IRA transactions and forms are processed completely and accurately.
  • Complete all incoming subpoena requests for records. Appear for deposition as needed.
  • Complete asset verifications
  • Complete AVS and SSI Notifications
  • Process Reclamations
  • Process ATM claims (Deposits and Cash).
  • Process ITM adjustments and claims.
  • Process AFS Return Check entries daily
  • Process all incoming mail deposits
  • Complete Certificate Review daily
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Experience

  • Prefer a minimum of three years’ experience in a credit union or other financial institution with operations.

Education

  • High School Education or equivalent

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of credit union operation and credit union philosophy. Possess strong literacy in computer applications, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of other Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access, and PowerPoint is preferred.

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM at our South County location
