WHAT YOU'LL DO:

The Principal Consultant – Technology and Operations holds responsibility for the strategy and execution of LabZ consulting services for client technology solutions and operational models, for its industry and technology knowledge base and expertise, and for the innovation of the services and solutions it provides to its clients. 


The Principal Consultant has extensive experience with and is passionate about forming successful client relationships and delivering transformational solutions and innovative problem-solving for the most complex and significant security program and technology challenges faced by our clients and the industry. 


The Principal Consultant role focuses on all aspects of program growth, consulting product development, people leadership, and quality delivery and execution of all engagements. The Principal Consultant is a leader with the ability to grow new and existing client relationships and drive organic business growth through new strategies and innovative ideas, managing a world class team that consistently delivers exceptional services in ways that aligns with ZBeta’s values, business strategy, and approach.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


Client Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for consulting Client engagements and develop relationships and referrals as a valued advisor.
  • Participate in high-impact and high-priority meetings and work sessions with Clients and their stakeholders as required to ensure program success. 
  • Lead strategic dialogue with clients to define the needs and goals of each engagement. 
  • Develop roadmap/milestone plans for the client’s projects/programs.

Program Development

  • Lead the development and ongoing management of the ZBeta consulting process, approach, tools, and templates. 
  • Identify opportunities and initiatives for improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of ZBeta consulting services delivery. 
  • Conduct regular program development meetings with Consulting staff to review, improve, and manage the status of development and optimization initiatives of these tools, processes, and standards.

Program Management

  • Consult with internal, client, and partner resources to identify program challenges and opportunities for optimization. 
  • Maintain full knowledge and understanding of all project scope of work requirements, commitments, terms, and conditions. 
  • Supervise hours projections and resource availability for current and future engagements.
  • Regularly audit program performance and make recommendations for addressing shortfalls.
  • Meet with Leadership regularly to set program objectives and goals and to review and track practice progress against agreed-on KPI.

Engagement Management

  • Lead and manage consulting projects and engagements of significant scope and high complexity and support consulting team members in the successful execution of engagements of all sizes and scope. 
  • Ensure that scope, schedule, and deliverables are clearly identified and actively managed. Ensure critical issues, question, and challenges are addressed efficiently. 
  • Coordinate the resolution of conflicts, challenges, and obstacles. 
  • Ensure that kickoff, project, and work session meetings are properly organized and effectively managed. 
  • Create and/or review all consulting deliverable documentation produced by team members for alignment with client needs and with ZBeta quality standards.

Research and Deliverables Development

  • Identify, organize, and oversee research activities related to consulting efforts: stakeholder interviews; facility, systems, and operations surveys; client data analysis; and manufacturer and industry literature review. 
  • Capture, document, and present research data in appropriate written and visual formats. Lead the development of and author content for client program objectives, use cases, business requirements, functional requirements, and technical requirements related to security technology selection, design, installation, and operation. 
  • Develop and author reports and presentations for solutions and options that meet objectives and requirements, and create frameworks for options evaluation, prioritization, and recommendation. 

Business Development & Acquisition

  • Support new business acquisition activities and work with the ZBeta Growth Team to identify new client opportunities and participate in the development and delivery of sales presentations.
  • Collaborate with ZBeta Client Partners and program/project management teams to identify business opportunities with existing clients.

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and manage consulting team resources, ensuring all program commitments, deliverables, and reporting requirements are met. 
  • Evaluate team member performance on a regular basis: provide performance reviews, set professional development goals, and make recommendations for promotion or reward. Participate in monthly reporting to leadership.

Thought Leadership

  • Conduct study and analysis of technology categories, trends, solutions, and industry approaches. 
  • Contribute to the production of case studies, reports, and presentations for consumption by clients, industry professionals, and internal partners.
  • Research, collect, and analyze relevant documentation and data to reach meaningful conclusions, form opinions of value propositions, generate ideas for solution and approach improvement and place in the context of potential application and impact to client and industry needs.      
Requirements

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Experience: 

  • 10+ years of physical security industry experience, including three years in management required
  • Extensive physical security industry and technology experience, with a demonstrated track record of designing, developing, and implementing successful security programs, operational models, and technology solutions for end users.

Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

Knowledge: 

  • Expertise in low voltage and physical security technology and design concepts
  • Strong business acumen with a broad understanding of management practices, principles, procedures and best practices

Skills: 

  • Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote and Visio
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Studio is a plus
  • Proficiency in project management tools, such as MS Project, SharePoint and QuickBase

Abilities: 

  • Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to communicate and present complex information to technical and non-technical stakeholders, both verbally and in written form
  • Exceptional collaboration and people skills with the ability to successfully represent the company in interactions with senior and executive-level clients and industry stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience leading a cross-functional team, acting as a role model while guiding, developing, and mentoring others
  • Demonstrated ability to envision, plan, and author high-quality report and presentation documents for client management and executive audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to identify critical path activities, prioritize tasks and deliverables, and realize consistent progress

  • The successful completion of a background check is required upon hire and every two years thereafter
