As an Ancillary Support Specialist, you will:

  • Provide support to and serve as the main point of contact for referrals to the Case Management and Peer Support Programs.
  • Input data into the Data Management System.
  • Provide case management by working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
  • Complete a comprehensive assessment of clients’ skills, strengths, and needs to effectively determine clients who may benefit from case management and/or peer support services.
  • Guide them in overcoming barriers to recovery and towards independence and stability.
  • Assist MISS staff with parenting education, as well as with organizing and staffing childcare supports, both onsite and within the community.
  • Complete intakes on new clients when needed and initiate all pertinent paperwork, including a review of client’s rights and consent forms.
  • Assist clients in locating resources and provide referral to those resources.
Requirements

To qualify for the position, you will need to have…

  • Earned a bachelor’s degree in the social services or related field.
  • At least 1 year experience working with individuals with co-occurring disorders.
  • A valid PA Driver’s License.
  • The ability to drive, travel and provide community-oriented services.
  • A willingness to work with integrated team members.
  • The ability to work 40 hours per week within agency hours of operation, which are 8am-8pm Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm Friday with Saturday hours, when applicable.

Preferred candidates will …

  • Be Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
  • Have knowledge of 12 Step Program and Community Resources a plus.
  • Have Knowledge of or experience with trauma-informed approaches preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • SEEING: Must be able to see well enough to read reports and use computer.
  • HEARING: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate to clients, vendors, and coworkers.
  • MOBILITY: Must have mobility to move about the agency. Must have mobility to move about the community.
  • LIFTING/PULLING/PUSHING: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • OTHER: Must be able to write, type and use technology.

All offers of employment are contingent upon the following:

  • Receipt of results of a satisfactory drug and alcohol screening test.
  • Receipt of the originals of the following background checks: PA State Police Criminal History, PA State Child Abuse, and DPW FBI Criminal History. These clearances must be valid within the 60 months prior to employment. A conviction is not a bar to employment; however, a review will be conducted to make a determination of employment should a conviction be present.
  • Receipt of original documentation and verification of relevant degrees, diplomas, certificates, or licensure.
  • Confirmation that you are not on the OIG Federal Healthcare Program Exclusion from Participation list. Should you appear on this list, Berks Counseling Center is prohibited from employing you.
  • This position may require you to operate BCC’s company car or transport clients, so you must provide a 10-Year Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and a valid Driver’s License.
