Position Summary
The DC Manager will be located at our South Bend, IN distribution facility reporting directly to the North America DC Manager, and responsible for the warehouse day-to-day activities and personnel.
Core Responsibilities:
- Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, stocking, intercompany transfers, restock, picking, packing, shipping, cycle count, and inventory maintenance activities.
- Lead and develop warehouse team to deliver world class customer service and create and maintain a positive culture in the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean and safe warehouse environment for all associates and visitors by partnering with the Safety Team and Corporate EH&S Manager.
- Monitor, measure, and report out on both corporate and site KPI’s: On-time Shipment, Errors (DPPM), Cycle Count Accuracy, Employee Productivity Rates, Safety, and others.
- Achieves financial objectives by closely monitoring all budgetary facets of the operation.
- Engage team with continuous improvement activities to ensure optimum throughput.
- Coordinate various activities with multiple departments and MFG Sites within the company.
- Approve timecards, vacations, PTO, payroll adjustments, scheduling, hiring, firing, and disciplinary actions by working closely with the Leads and on-site Human Resource person Representative.
- Coordinates PMs with various outside contractors.
- Maintain ISO certification by working closely with the Senior Management Team, Quality Manager, the Warehouse Team, and outside Registrar.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Warehouse Management System (WMS) prior experience. SC Expert a plus.
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Applications; Excel, Word, Power Point, and M365.
- Prior Payroll/HRIS System experience. Paylocity a plus.
- Robust problem-solving skills.
- Six-Sigma understanding and a Change Management Ambassador.
- Effective communicator, both verbally and written, to build professional relationships with internal/external customers and co-workers at all levels.
- Strong leadership abilities that will build and manage an efficient and productive team.
- Proven track record and experience managing the P&L with the ability to analyze and mitigate cost within the operation.
- Uses time effectively, prioritize tasks, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree with a empathize in Logistics and or Supply Chain preferred. At least 3-5 years experience in warehouse management.
Physical Requirements: Able to lift to 50 LBS. Must be able to traverse through all areas of the warehouse. Sit-Down 60% and stand/walk 40% of the time. Willing to travel for Quarterly Report Outs.
