History
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) was organized in 1967 and has boundaries coterminous with Martin County, Texas. It is located in the heart of West Texas. Opened in 1949, the hospital was originally located near downtown Stanton. This facility served the community well for many years but was replaced with a state of the art 18 bed facility in 2012. The new facility is located on I20 and has been designated as a Critical Access Hospital.
Summary Of Responsibilities.
Provides supervision to the professional nursing staff of the Rural Health Clinic. Is responsible for the nursing care and management of all nursing/clinical duties of the assigned staff. Responsible for the clinical policies and processes, maintenance of supplies and equipment to support nursing services of the clinic. Responsible for regulatory reporting and oversight of the compliance of State Programs the clinic participates in (i.e. Texas Vaccines for Children, CHIPS) and ensures compliance for these programs are met. Leads and participates in community outreach programs and activities. Reports to the Director/Administrator of the Rural Health Clinic.
Education
Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing - Registered Nurse (RN), BSN preferred
Licenses/Certificates
Must have a license to practice professional nursing by the Texas Board of Nursing or licensure from a state within the Nursing Compact. Successful completion of AHA approved courses in BLS upon hire.
Experience
One (1) year experience as a Professional Nurse
Physical Requirements
High potential for exposure to blood and body fluids. Personal protective equipment required for at-risk procedures. Exposure to risk in the form of disease, radiation, and disoriented and/or combative patients. May be requested to be on standby and work extended shifts in situations which are considered emergent.
