Nature and Scope
Responsible for teaching content for CFP® Certification Education programs and for the CFP® Certification Examination. Instructors deliver content in a meaningful way to foster student understanding of complex topics. All education courses are taught in a virtual classroom format. Review courses are taught in both a virtual classroom and traditional classroom locations across the country. Our instructors typically specialize in either: Fundamentals of Financial Planning, Insurance Planning, and Investment Planning or Tax Planning, Retirement Planning and Estate Planning.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Education and Exam Review Content
- Thorough understanding of our financial planning content, which includes our books, student handout materials, online learning program, question database, and classroom PowerPoints.
- Demonstrate expertise on subjects covered in the education and review programs.
- Exhibit an ability to explain complex topics using examples and real-world scenarios to help students understand the practical application of topics being taught.
- Assist with updates and content development for slides and other materials used throughout the education process as needed.
Virtual and Traditional Classroom
- Teach education or review courses using our virtual classroom.
- Demonstrate proficiency using the virtual classroom tools to facilitate student engagement.
- Answer student questions and coordinate with other faculty to support student questions.
- Encourage and foster student participation during class.
Requirements
- CFP® certification is required.
- Familiarity with Zoom and Webex.
- Excellent oral communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Passion for education and helping others.
Preferred Skills
- Prior teaching experience.
- Financial industry experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
