Position Description:
- The Athletic Program Aide II is responsible for assisting the full-time staff with operations of department programs and leagues.
This is a part-time position. Pay rate is $14.50/hour. No benefits.
Background & Qualifications:
- Scorekeeping a variety of sports
- Overseeing facility/game day operations
- Completing administrative paperwork such as referee bills, game logs, etc.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- High quality customer service skills
Immediate Supervisor:
- Assistant Athletic Director
Essential Functions:
- Perform job tasks in a safe manner and has a working knowledge of all general and departmental-specific safety rules.
- Keep accurate records of game results.
- Responsible for delivering game supplies and equipment to facilities.
- Responsible for preparing courts, fields, and ball diamonds during assigned shifts.
- Assist lead instructors with coaching and supervising of participants during academies.
- Assist in on-site training of new staff
- Communicate with multiple parties affiliated with the implementation of leagues and programs
- Responsible for all accident/incident reports, referee statements, attendance sheets and all other forms related to program.
- Ability to travel to multiple locations
Marginal Functions:
- Assist with program preparations as assigned by full-time staff.
- Assist in maintaining order and cleanliness in the gym/facility during entire shift.
- Assist with special events/projects.
- Be able to communicate efficiently with staff on site to ensure operations run as expected
Requirements
- Ability to interpret Park District policy and operating procedures to staff and public, and to maintain satisfactory working relationships with community groups and organizations.
- Ability to respond to problem situations quickly, with good judgement and accuracy.
- The Athletic Program Aide II must exhibit good problem-solving ability and good judgement in keeping with the mission of the Park District, while being a leader amongst peers and leading by example.
