Connect Creative Director
Description

The Creative Director for CONNECT is responsible for leading the creative execution of branding, packaging, and series development within the CONNECT division. This role ensures that all visual and media assets—including thumbnails, series branding, and social content—are designed with excellence and align with the app’s mission to cultivate deeper spiritual engagement.


The Creative Director will creatively lead the team of filmmakers, designers, and content creators by setting the artistic vision, providing creative direction, and ensuring all projects uphold the highest standard of quality. Additionally, this role will execute hands-on design work, producing key assets that define the app’s visual identity.


This individual must fully align with the vision, values, unique characteristics, and leadership standards of Mercy Culture Church and be committed to upholding them through all creative expressions and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:


Creative Leadership & Execution

  • Establish and execute the creative vision for series branding, packaging, and promotional assets within the division.
  • Lead the design and development of thumbnails, social media content, and branding elements, ensuring a strong and cohesive visual identity.
  • Provide creative direction to the filmmaking, design, and content teams, ensuring alignment with the app’s mission and Mercy Culture’s standards.
  • Maintain a high standard of excellence in design execution, typography, and layout composition.

Series & Content Development

  • Oversee the creation and visual identity of devotional series, ensuring clarity, consistency, and engagement.
  • Design key assets for marketing, in-app branding, and digital campaigns to enhance user experience and retention.
  • Ensure consistency across all visual elements, reinforcing brand recognition and theological integrity.

Collaboration & Quality Control

  • Work alongside filmmakers, designers, and content creators, providing guidance and refining visual assets.
  • Ensure all creative elements are executed with excellence, maintaining a professional, polished, and spirit-led aesthetic.
  • Review and approve final designs, ensuring alignment with Mercy Culture’s leadership standards and creative excellence.
Requirements
  • Must be a member of Mercy Culture Church and fully committed to its vision, values, unique characteristics, and leadership standards.
  • 5+ years of professional design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in branding, layout, typography, and digital content.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign; After Effects is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of thumbnail design, social media graphics, and digital marketing visuals.
  • Experience leading creative projects and executing high-level design strategies.
  • Strong creative vision with the ability to lead and inspire a team of designers and content creators.
  • Ability to execute hands-on design work while maintaining strategic oversight of creative projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, high-quality design assets.

To be employed at Mercy Culture Church, you must be a member of the church or be willing to become a member upon hire.


Work Schedule

This position is full-time/40 week. Your schedule will be discussed but could be either Sunday, Tuesday - Friday (sabbath on Monday) or Monday - Friday. Times may vary during various conferences and events. There will need to be flexibility.
