Position: Assistant Swim Coach, Waves Swim Team

Reports to: Head Coach Waves Swim Team & Swim Team Director

Exempt: Full time, schedule is Wed, Thu, Fri 3:45-8:00p

Saturday and Sunday are available to attend meets or practices on weekends. 

*Monday and Tuesday off days.

Previous Experience & Proficiencies

· Level 2+ coaching certificate 

· Three to five years directly coaching various age groups under the direction of a Head Coach.

· Three to five years designing, implementing various practices for all age groups

· Microsoft Office Proficiency suite

· Familiarity with Team Unify is not required but is an added benefit

· Current Safety Training for Swim Coaches, (Club will support efforts to complete within 30 days of employment).

· Current CPR/AED (Complete prior too or within 30 days of employment) 

· USA Coach Certification (willing to get within 30 days of employment) 

· Attend meets and be on deck during them and practices

· Support and following the policies and procedures of the Weymouth Club, and Waves Swim Team 

Coaching Education

· Maintain proper level of credentials, including but not limited to ASCA certification, CPR/AED, Safety Training for Coaches

· Advance continuing education by attending clinics & conferences

· Extensive knowledge of competitive swimming, the physics of swimming, stroke mechanics, USA Swimming rules & regulations. 

Coaching Role

· Assist Head Coach with creating age & skill appropriate swim practice sessions

· Attend & assist Head Coach with administering swim practices

· Attend scheduled dual & USA meets, as determined by the Head Coach

· Assist Head Coach with recruiting swimmers from the Waves developmental programs to join the Waves USA team and/or Waves Summer Swim Team.

· Coach pre-competitive programs, Waves 101 & JV programs two sessions per week for each.

      O Execute at least two recreational fun meets for the Waves 101/JV/Fit Teen groups. Ensure the fun meets are scheduled at times that minimize the impact on Club members. The goal is to foster a sense of team spirit & encourage participation in the team.

      Tentative annual schedule: Jan & Apr (During Breaks on Weekends (later in the day).) 

Communication, Promotions, Website

· Collaborate with Swim Team Director & Head Coach to develop a monthly social media calendar & compelling storyboard

· Assist Head Coach with capturing images to support the social media plan

· Work with Swim Team Director & Marketing Coordinator to maximize social reach of the swim team & related programs.

· Assist Head Coach & admin team with executing successful fundraising efforts.

Working with the Parent Committee 

Advancement of the Waves Swim Team, Weymouth Club Mission & Values

· Be a Club ambassador for the sport of swimming & the swimming development process.

· Especially important when we use Swim School and JV/101 programs as feeders. 

· Be available to discuss potential move ups to Swim Team with WSS and Directors. 

· Perform other related duties as assigned by the executive team & department director.

This could be a Manager on Duty shift 

Coverage for Manager on Duty shift

· Attend Weekly Manager meetings, All-Team Meetings, Weekly Coaches meeting, & required safety meetings.

· Advance the mission of the Weymouth Waves Swim Team, Weymouth Waves Swim School, & Weymouth Club
