Position Purpose

The Specialist, Research supports WorldatWork’s research efforts by independently managing the execution of surveys, performing basic data analysis, and contributing to both topical research for the Total Rewards profession and market research deliverables. This role requires strong technical skills in survey programming, data cleaning, and analysis, as well as the ability to translate data into insights with minimal oversight. In addition, the Survey Research Analyst supports market research studies by collecting and analyzing both primary and secondary data to help inform business decisions. 

Primary Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Associate, Research include:

  • Participant Engagement: Coordinate research participant communications, including recruitment outreach, scheduling, and incentive distribution, working with the Marketing team where appropriate.
  • Internal Request Management: Monitor the research team's ticketing system for internal requests, assigning tickets to the appropriate staff member and collecting additional information when necessary. Over time, take on direct execution of operational tasks, such as updating survey details or exporting standard reports, while continuing to assign complex tasks to other team members.
  • Communication Coordination: Distribute internal project updates and ensure key stakeholders are informed of project progress and timelines. 
  • Meeting Representation: Attend meetings on behalf of the research team to provide project status updates and communicate research-related information.
  • Customer Support: Triage incoming requests from the Customer Experience Team related to research, escalating to team members as needed and building and maintaining an FAQ document to enable Customer Experience to answer common questions independently. Monitor and respond to email inquiries sent directly to the research mailbox regarding research participation and research reports, seeking assistance from senior research staff when needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain and update project management records and assist in developing and maintaining procedural documentation for research processes to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Survey Administration Support: Assist with setting up and managing surveys in survey platforms.
  • Permission Processing: Process requests for re-publication of research reports and documents, coordinating with other teams (Publications, Legal, etc.) and following established procedures.
  • Proofreading and Copy-Editing: Participate in the proofreading and copy-editing of research deliverables to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Survey Testing & Troubleshooting: Test surveys programmed by others, documenting issues found, and, over time, developing skills in the survey platform to diagnose and/or fix programming errors




Requirements

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Social Sciences, Business, Public Health, or related disciplines).
  • Experience: 1-3 years in a research-related administrative role, ideally with exposure to survey research methodologies.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and task management skills.
  • Experience with survey research tools such as Qualtrics, Voxco, or similar platforms.
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborative and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to encourage and persuade more senior staff to comply with documentation and project tracking requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with research participant coordination and incentive management.
  • Exposure to data visualization and reporting tools.
  • Experience developing procedural documentation, especially for research processes.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment with need for flexible scheduling.
  • Will require coordinating with teams across different time zones.
