Description
Job Summary: Responsible for preparing and/or coordinating the preparation of the design and engineering on large and complex mechanical piping projects as required by client’s documents and provides design, bill of material and cost worksheets.
- Lead the design of structural and mechanical piping systems, including pipe and duct supports, for projects such as water/wastewater treatment plants, power generation facilities, and process utility systems.
- Prepare and review project estimates, evaluate requests for quotes, and develop cost analyses, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Generate and review design submittals, construction documents, and project specifications.
- Collaborate with key mechanical accounts to develop project quotes and secure contracts or purchase orders.
- Oversee post-award activities, including sales order preparation, coordination with purchasing, and ongoing project management through completion.
- Conduct occasional site visits and work closely with sales representatives to promote engineering services and solutions.
- Utilize AutoCAD, BIM software, and other required tools to ensure high-quality design and project delivery.
- Develop and maintain cost data, vendor and subcontractor information, and estimating procedures.
- Train and support junior engineers and staff to enhance team capabilities.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in design engineering, estimating, or project management in related industries.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, BIM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems like Eclipse.
- Strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
