Overview:
The Strategic Growth Specialist plays a critical role in driving referral growth and revenue by developing strategic partnerships and converting leads into measurable opportunities. This position is responsible for identifying, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders to expand the organization’s reach and impact. By leveraging data-driven strategies and effective relationship management, the Business Development Specialist will support the expansion of mental health services to underserved communities within Maryland. This role will report directly to the Director of Business Development and work collaboratively with internal teams to align business development efforts with the organization’s mission and goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development, sales, or partnership management, with experience in behavioral health or healthcare preferred. Success in this role requires a results-driven approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.


Responsibilities:

  1. Establish, expand, and strengthen partnerships by identifying key stakeholders and fostering mutually beneficial relationships that increase referral volume over a 12-month period.
  2. Attend and represent Maryland Wellness at key regional mental health meetings, ensuring full representation in all critical stakeholder discussions to strengthen our presence and influence within the community.
  3. Maintain a pipeline of active prospects by identifying, researching, and engaging potential partners through networking and outreach efforts.
  4. Utilize the agency's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) to track and report pipeline progress, monitor key conversion metrics, and identify opportunities for optimization.
  5. Drive a 20% year-over-year increase in referral-driven revenue by cultivating high-quality partnerships and implementing strategic referral engagement initiatives.
  6. Share data with leadership to highlight trends, partnership impacts, and growth opportunities.
Requirements


Education and Experience

  • A high school diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or partnership management, preferably in behavioral health, healthcare, or public health.
  • A valid driver’s license is required, as travel within Maryland is necessary to cover assigned regional responsibilities.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sales, healthcare, psychology, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Copper) and data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills.

This position will provide support to Western & Southern Maryland and Capital Region counties.

Salary Description
$62,400-$78,000
