Requirements

Position Summary

  

The Spraying/Loading Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Spraying & Loading Teams and their success in meeting the company’s quality standards and production deadlines. This position works closely with the Glazemaking Team to coordinate workflow. This role is accountable for communicating with studio management on cross training opportunities for their team and shifting staff interdepartmentally based on workflow demands. 


Key Accountabilities 

  •  Supervise and train employees in all aspects of glaze application and tile loading.
  • Work with the Master Scheduler to prioritize and plan department workflow, identifying and tracking late orders and expediting to maximize on-time delivery
  • Oversee glaze testing and sample production for the department
  • Collaborate with all Glaze Goods Teams to ensure efficient workflow, maintaining awareness of tile and glaze available to maximize kiln loads on a daily basis 
  • Perform all functions of the spraying and loading positions. This is a hands-on role.
  • Communicate effectively with all departments, facilitating collaboration and teamwork
  • Foster a team environment and empower workers to succeed in their roles 
  • Perform supervisory duties including upholding department expectations and goals, employee performance reviews and scheduling, and attending staff meetings
  • Report to Glaze Goods Manager regularly, providing information on employees in training and department needs
  • Participate in maintaining clean working environment and lead the team in cleanup and maintenance
  • Lead by example and set the standards for the department

Skills and Competencies

  

  • Two+ years of supervisory experience at a high volume, highly variable manufacturing facility supervising and training other employees. 
  • Must have excellent management skills and experience coaching direct employees for success.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • Strong hand/eye coordination, detail oriented and can stand for up to 8 hours a day with frequent arm movement
  • Ability to work independently as well as cooperatively with a wide variety of personalities 
  • Flexibility and ability to multitask and perform effectively in a multiple deadline, changing environment
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Windows Office and manufacturing resource planning software

The employee is frequently required to operate various manufacturing equipment. The employee is regularly required to observe, identify, detect and communicate by exchanging information and expressing themselves. The employee may occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force and, with assistance, move, transport and/or position up to 100 pounds. The employee may be required to wear a respirator.

Salary Description
$22 - $26 per hour, based on experience
