EMS Management & Consultants, Inc. (EMS|MC) is seeking an experienced and driven Proposal Manager to lead our proposal development process and manage a team dedicated to creating winning proposals for prospective clients. This role combines hands-on proposal writing and editing with managerial responsibilities, ensuring our proposals meet the highest standards of quality and effectively communicate the value of our services.
The Proposal Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Sales and Customer Success to oversee all aspects of the proposal lifecycle. Additionally, this role will manage proposal team members, providing guidance and support to foster growth and performance.
As a Proposal Manager with EMS|MC, you will:
- Proposal Development
- Lead the development of high-quality, customized proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs, and other client requests.
- Ensure proposals align with EMS|MC’s messaging, brand, and strategic goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input, ensuring technical accuracy and compelling content.
- Establish and maintain a proposal content library, including templates, case studies, and other supporting materials.
- Manage the proposal timeline, ensuring all deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Conduct final reviews of proposals, ensuring compliance with client requirements and internal quality standards.
- Management & Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of proposal writers and support staff, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Set clear goals, monitor performance, and provide ongoing feedback to team members.
- Develop training programs and professional development opportunities for the proposal team.
- Allocate resources effectively to balance workloads and meet organizational needs.
- Strategic Responsibilities
- Analyze proposal outcomes and feedback to continuously improve the proposal process and win rate.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor strategies, and best practices in proposal management.
- Partner with the Sales and Marketing leadership to develop strategies that align with EMS|MC’s growth objectives.
- Support the Director of Marketing with additional strategic initiatives and projects as needed.
Requirements
You will be successful in this role if you:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in proposal writing and management, preferably in healthcare, consulting, or a similar industry.
- 1+ years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
- Proven track record of managing and winning complex RFP responses.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple proposals simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in proposal management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
