Vice President of Operations

POSITION SUMMARY

The Vice President of Fulfillment Operations oversees the day-to-day operations of their designated facility(ies)/accounts, encompassing personnel management, equipment, and processes. They will be held accountable for meeting both company and customer targets, adhering to customer contract metrics, maintaining productivity standards, and managing costs within their assigned facility(ies)/accounts. The Vice President of Operations reports directly to the Chief Operations Officer (COO).

POSITION ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Ensures that orders are filled from all assigned account bases (personnel, processes, equipment, space, etc.) to meet required customer metrics.
  • Confirm that processes are working as designed and are being followed. 
  • Risk Evaluation
  • Ability to organize daily work order processing to meet IDS commitments. 
  • Forecast, plan, and adjust labor.
  • Ability to work with Customer Service Coordinator in directing CSR team.
  • Productivity/Gross Profit Accountability
  • Maintains or exceeds productivity standards. 
  • Assures that programs are properly billed for services provided.
  • Recruitment, Development, Retention of Staff
  • Manage relationship with contract labor providers.
  • Forecast labor needs based on client growth.
  • Maintains schedules to meet customer and employee needs.
  • Customer Service Representatives, Supervisors and General Staff
  • Oversee what is needed for general working conditions and assignments.
  • Performs work as needed to support operational team.
  • Arrange inventory control and management.
  • Perform yearly physical inventories. 
  • Manage and maintain the effectiveness of Cycle Counting Programs 
  • Ability to meet metrics for receipt and order timeliness, order correctness, inventory accuracy and attainment of productivity and gross profit levels.
  • Support and maintain positive, responsive, and proactive customer relationships and communications. 
  • Supply Management – properly utilizing and managing vendor relations.  
  • Maintain steady, predictable, and effective relations with carriers regarding pick up and issue resolution.
  • Understands the complexity of all business aspects, and responds with appropriate techniques, verifies that any subsequent changes satisfy business objectives. 
  • Requirement Analysis - Has expert knowledge of prioritizing requirements. Define and resolve conflicts along with instructing others.

SECURITY

  • Complies with all company inventory control and security procedures and ensures compliance by others. 
  • Is responsible for the security and application of good warehousing inventory practices.
  • Possesses specific knowledge of safety protocols for the facility and customer accounts.
  • Maintains the security of inventory and data.

SAFETY

  • Complies with all government and company safety rules.  
  • Ensures the safety and positive work environment of all staff.
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and orderly warehouse.
Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience.

  • College Degree required.
  • 5 years relevant work experience

  • Familiarity with MHE is required.

  • Sound knowledge of warehouse management systems and related hardware/software, including Microsoft office.
