JOB SUMMARY
Eastside Catholic School is seeking High School Spanish teacher for the 2025-26 school year. This educator will play a vital role in fostering students’ understanding and appreciation of Spanish language and culture. The ideal candidate is passionate about Spanish language education, skilled in collaboration and eager to contribute to a faith-based educational community.
Specific Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging lessons that align with the World Language Department’s curriculum while conveying new ideas and best practices
- Plan and teach five sections of Spanish (Ranging from Levels I to III)
- Develop instructional materials, syllabi, assessments and learning objectives in alignment with the department curriculum
- Establish clear objectives for assigned lessons, learning targets and projects and communicate these to students
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback, development and progress
- Participate in faculty, department and committee meetings
- Serve as a mentor teacher for a group of 15-18 students
Knowledge, skills and abilities
- Strong understanding of and experience teaching Spanish at the high school level
- Proficiency in differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
Fluency in classroom technology and instructional tools - Ability to build positive relationships and maintain open communication with students and families
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and collaboration skills
- Commitment to fostering equity, inclusion and a sense of belonging
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Spanish or a related field
- Native or near-native fluency in Spanish
- Teaching certification, credential or extensive classroom teaching experience
- Knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures, history and traditions
