WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 

SCDC is seeking a Chief Financial Officer for one of our subsidiary companies. We are looking for a financial management executive who can evidence strong C-level leadership while working in a fast-paced “start-up” environment. The ideal candidate will exhibit the capacity to do context switching on the spot, think on their feet, and be willing to roll up their sleeves and do all types of work (strategic and tactical) – no task will be beneath them. 


The?Chief Financial Officer?will be responsible for developing, directing, administrating, overseeing, planning, and reporting all accounting functions and overall management of the financial team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.  


ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

  • A master’s degree in a relevant field, MBA, CPA or PhD and 15 years plus of relevant experience; or comparable combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • Experience as a CFO in a startup environment (A MUST). 
  • Demonstrated experience in Financial Planning, Forecasting, Financial Analysis, Developing & Monitoring Budgets and Risk Management. 
  • Demonstrated experience in Financial Leadership, including the ability to lead and mentor financial teams. 
  • Familiarity with local, State, and Federal Financial Regulations, including Tax Laws, Tax Mitigation Strategies and Regulatory Compliance. 
  • Demonstrated ability to organize information, think critically, and problem solve in a start-up environment. 
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Candidates with limited proficiency will not be considered. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Strategic Leadership: Acting as a strategic partner to the leadership team, you will help to shape the company’s overall strategy and future direction. 
  • Financial Reporting: You will oversee all financial functions including accounting, budgeting, credit, insurance, tax, and treasury. 
  • Risk Management: You will identify and manage financial risks, ensuring compliance with financial regulations (such as GAAP) and policies. 
  • Investment and Capital Structure: You will evaluate and advise the leadership team on cash management strategies, borrowing and managing the capital structure of the Company. This also includes exploring and taking action on M&A opportunities. 
  • Team Leadership: You will start with a small team and you will ensure that they have the skills and tools to support the business’s financial operations. 
  • Technology and Process Improvement: You will lead the evaluation and recommendation of financial systems, processes, and technology to improve efficiency and support the company’s growth. 

Additional Details 

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

  • Salary: $312,000+ annual paid bi-weekly 
  • Full Time Benefits: After completion of a probationary period, you will be eligible for full-time company benefits. 
  • This is an on-site role.  
  • We do not offer remote or hybrid working opportunities
  • This position is in Downtown Houston, Texas 77002. 

Schedule: 

  • Monday to Friday
