Effective People, a leading SAP SuccessFactors implementation partner and part of GP Strategies, is seeking a U.S.-based Senior Manager, Business Development to oversee and expand business development activities in support of our SAP SuccessFactors practice. Reporting to the Practice Lead for Business Development and Marketing, this role will own strategic sales initiatives, drive revenue growth, and guide account management efforts in both commercial and public sector markets.

Role and Responsibilities


Sales Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive professional services sales strategy for SAP SuccessFactors solutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, including prospecting, solution positioning, negotiation, and close.
  • Lead pipeline reviews, forecast accuracy, and account planning for key targets.

Partner & Client Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with SAP, channel partners, and prospects, effectively representing GP Strategies’ portfolio.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value prospects and key client accounts, understanding their needs and offering appropriate solutions.
  • Coordinate with GP Strategies and Effective People delivery teams to ensure alignment between sales commitments and service capabilities.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns that generate qualified leads.
  • Collaborate with legal, financial operations, and consulting staff to negotiate contract terms and finalize proposals.
  • Provide sales input for RFP responses, proposals, and SOWs, ensuring accurate scope definition and appropriate pricing.

Team & Practice Development

  • Mentor Business Development Specialists and other sales team members, sharing best practices and industry insights.
  • Continuously improve sales processes and methodologies, leveraging metrics and client feedback to optimize approaches.
  • Stay current with SAP SuccessFactors product roadmaps and emerging trends in the HR tech landscape, identifying new growth areas.




Requirements

 

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of experience selling professional services, technology consulting, or enterprise software solutions.

• 3+ years of experience leading or managing sales teams or complex multi-stakeholder deals.

• Solid knowledge of SAP HCM / SuccessFactors products, modules, or competitor HCM solutions.

• Track record of meeting/exceeding revenue goals and building executive-level relationships.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate business value clearly.

• Ability to manage multiple complex sales cycles simultaneously.

• Ability to travel up to 25% as needed.

• U.S. citizenship and permanent residency.


Preferred:

• Experience selling into Federal Government or highly regulated industries, including knowledge of contract vehicles.

• Experience in SAP SuccessFactors consulting, solution architecture, or implementation.

• Familiarity with HCM business processes, talent management strategies, and best practices.

• Experience using CRM systems for lead tracking, opportunity management, and pipeline reporting.

• Exposure to proposals, RFP responses, and contract negotiation in a consulting environment.


Physical Requirements

• Assignments may be remote or in a local office. Role involves extended periods working on a computer.

• Minimal physical effort required; some travel may involve carrying light equipment.
