We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Human Resources (HR) Generalist to join our team and contribute to our continued success. The Senior HR Generalist will play a key role in managing and overseeing various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal skills and a deep understanding of HR best practices.


This role serves as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, ensuring HR practices align with organizational goals while fostering a positive and engaging work environment. The position is part of a fun, friendly, and flexible team that works closely together on all aspects of HR.


Responsibilities

Employee Relations

  • Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
  • Mediate and resolve employee conflicts and issues in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Performance Management

  • Facilitate check-in review processes and support leaders with coaching, feedback, and development plans.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers on performance-related matters.
  • Handles corrective action and position separations with the leadership team.
  • Promote employee engagement and recognition initiatives.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Track, compile, and maintain monthly HR metrics and reports, providing insights on headcount, turnover, recruitment activity, and other key HR indicators.
  • Support data-driven decision-making through accurate and timely reporting.

Training & Development

  • Support the coordination and delivery of employee training programs.
  • Recommend and help implement learning opportunities for career growth and skills development.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, policies, and procedures.
  • Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures.

Other HR Team Support

  • Assist the team in the offboarding process
  • Assist employees with benefits enrollment, questions, and problem resolution.
  • Support compensation benchmarking and pay practices to ensure internal equity and market competitiveness
  • Assist the HR managers and the recruiting staff with the talent acquisition process as needed.
  • Help develop and implement effective onboarding programs.
  • Collaborate with management to identify HR needs and develop strategies to address them effectively.
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and enhance employee experience.
  • Collaborate with the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) staff to review incidents and reduce risk to ensure employees’ safety. 
  • Participate in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems with the HR mgmt staff for the HR team.
  • Provide guidance and support to leadership and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Other projects as assigned.
Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with broad generalist exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.

Other Requirements:

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license. 
  •  Approximately 2- 3 trips to our Vancouver, Washington business location are required annually. Each trip would take a few business days to meet with employees and leaders. 


Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of and extensive background in fundamental concepts, practices, procedures and employment regulations, employment laws, and government compliance in the field of human resources.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Able to lead other human resources team members to perform well.
  • High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
