The SSC Personnel Online Database (POD) Application Support with Integrated Inventory Database is responsible to operate, enhance, upgrade, and maintain the SSC Personnel Online Database (POD) with integrated Inventory Database to support all LAAFB and SSC organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
· Add/remove users
· Monitor organizational mailbox for non-delivery reports, background job failures, and user inquiries
· Check the SQL Server Agent job history for background job failures that may not have been sent to the mailbox
· Troubleshoot and resolve system failures
· Provide phone, email and walk-in support for user inquires and issues
· Check the storage space used by the backup jobs and delete old backup files
· Update the service account password at regular intervals
· Monthly perform a restore job and verify its integrity
· Provide user training and demonstrations
· Support application-related meetings and participate in configuration management board
· Gather requirements from stakeholders for future enhancements
· Support organization merge/split activities (re-organizations) including establishing additional instances if necessary
· Provide ad hoc reports and data imports as requested
· Update the system to support changing business needs, fix design flaws, and implement productivity and usability enhancements
· Maintain a test environment for development, patch testing, and enhancement validation
· Update documentation and user guides
- 10+ Years of experience in DBA role
- Education: A BS degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution fulfills the educational requirement for this WRC or TBD.
