The Configuration Management Office System Analyst will be responsible for maintaining configuration control for IT devices operated and managed under this contract. This role ensures compliance with Air Force and Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity requirements while overseeing configuration changes, compliance reporting, and software deployments. The Configuration Manager will align all documentation and processes with AFI 17-130 (Cybersecurity Program Management), TO 00-33A-1001 (General Cyberspace Support Activities Management Procedures and Practice Requirements), and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance Oversight: Review all applicable directives, including Maintenance Tasking Orders (MTOs), Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), and Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNOs) to assess their impact and ensure compliance.
- Software Management: Manage automated and mass software deployments, oversee group policy settings and configurations, and report compliance status to the Information Assurance (IA) team. Maintain and update the Configuration Change Database to effectively document and track system changes.
- Above Core Software Management: Provide support for non-core software applications, ensuring the maintenance and updating of several custom software tools, including, but not limited to, Desktop Configuration Manager, Compliance Tracker, Server Manager, Software License Inventory Manager, Cisco VoIP Manager, Account Aging, and the Computer Security Management Tracking System (CSMTS). Coordinate annually with customers of these applications to validate their continued necessity and submit a report on findings to the SCO Flight Chief and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR) by January 31st each year.
- Tier 3 Support: Deliver advanced troubleshooting for workstations and perform specialized hardware evaluations. Assist in computer forensics investigations in coordination with lawful authorities, including the 61st Security Forces Squadron (61 SFS), Judge Advocate General (JAG), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), Inspector General (IG), and the 690th Network Support Squadron (690 NSS).
- Maintenance Management: Ensure all IT equipment operates optimally at all times. Develop, implement, document, and maintain a standardized maintenance program for contractor-supported government equipment. This program will comply with DoD and Air Force guidance, industry standards, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) service manuals, and AF Technical Orders (TOs), specifically TO 00-33A-1001, Chapter 7. Responsibilities include overseeing recurring preventive maintenance and non-recurring priority maintenance, such as installation, modification, troubleshooting, fault isolation, repair, replacement, system programming, and reconfiguration of IT equipment, systems, and networks.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in configuration management, compliance monitoring, and IT maintenance within a Department of Defense (DoD) environment is necessary. This includes managing configuration control processes, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards, and overseeing software deployments in enterprise IT environments.
- Candidates must demonstrate experience working with DoD and Air Force IT compliance frameworks, including DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and AFI 17-130, Cybersecurity Program Management.
- The Configuration Management Office System Analyst will review and implement directives such as Maintenance Tasking Orders (MTOs), Notices to Airmen (NOTAMs), and Time Compliance Network Orders (TCNOs) to ensure compliance with Air Force and DoD security policies.

- Cybersecurity Collaboration: Experience working with cybersecurity teams to identify and remediate vulnerabilities, maintain security baselines, and ensure systems remain compliant with evolving DoD security requirements is preferred. Knowledge of maintaining and updating custom software applications and tools, including Desktop Configuration Manager, Compliance Tracker, Server Manager, and Cisco VoIP Manager, is important.
- Forensics Support: Configuration Management Office System Analyst will support computer forensics investigations as needed, collaborating with agencies such as the 61st Security Forces Squadron (61 SFS), Judge Advocate General (JAG), Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI), and the 690th Network Support Squadron (690 NSS). Familiarity with forensic investigation procedures and protocols, and compliance with legal and security requirements when handling IT security incidents, is required.
- Maintenance Management: The role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining a standardized maintenance management program for IT equipment in accordance with TO 00-33A-1001, Chapter 7. Candidates should have experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, system troubleshooting, fault isolation, and hardware/software upgrades. Knowledge of best practices for IT lifecycle management, including Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines and DoD maintenance standards, is highly desirable.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field is required, though equivalent work experience may be considered.
- Clearance: An active Secret Clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Industry certifications such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ITIL Certification, or Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate are preferred.
- Experience working in a classified Air Force or DoD IT environment is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with the End User Device (EUD) configuration management process under the EITaaS FS BPA ORDER is a plus.
Work Environment:
This position is based at Los Angeles Air Force Base (LAAFB) in El Segundo, California, requiring on-site support during core business hours from 0700 to 1600 PT. While limited telework options may be considered on a case-by-case basis, the role primarily necessitates in-person presence. The Configuration Manager must also be available for occasional on-call support to address mission-critical IT incidents and ensure continued system compliance and performance.
DoD/Military Training: C-555-2016 (P/L), C-555-2015 (P/L), A-150-0929 (P/L), or C-555-0050/C-555-2014 C.
Certifications: Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+, GSEC, FITSP-O, GFACT, CASP+, CCNP Security, or CCSP.
Annual Maintenance: Continuous Professional Development: Minimum of 20 hours annually or as required to maintain certification, whichever is greater.
