Description

SHINE Technologies is seeking an R&D Chemistry Summer Intern to assist the Chemistry team in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and supporting research projects related to Tb-161 separations, Lu-177 production, and used nuclear fuel recycling. This internship experience provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to radiochemistry in a dynamic industry environment and contribute to the advancement of innovative separations technologies. The R&D Chemistry intern will have the opportunity to rotate between quality control and R&D functions of the organization, gaining insight into a wide diversity of chemistry roles. 


The base salary range for this position is $20.00/hour-$23.00/hour. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

Specific duties and responsibilities for the R&D Chemistry Intern include, but are not limited to:


· Assist in the preparation and execution of laboratory experiments, following established protocols and safety guidelines.

· Conduct analyses using various analytical techniques, including ICP-MS QQQ.

· Assist the Chemistry team by collecting, organizing, and analyzing experimental data.

· Assist in the preparation of technical reports. 

· Assist in the preparation of chemical solutions and reagents.

· Participate in team meetings and contribute to project discussions.

· Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory.

· Assist in literature reviews to support project goals.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
  •  Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong academic record with coursework in general chemistry and analytical chemistry. 
  • Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 

Eligibility for employment is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Additionally, applicant’s eligibility may be conditioned based upon meeting the Nuclear Regulatory Commission requirements for access to Safeguards Information, which typically requires a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting and criminal background check.
