JOB SUMMARY: 

Under general managerial direction: Monitors and maintains the bank's Municipal Leasing Portfolio; provides administrative support to management of the Credit Administration Division. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

Monitors and maintains municipal leasing portfolio:

— Organization of portfolio 

— Completion of all municipal loan processing from origination to close 

— Analyzes requests for funding and researching payments 

— Monitoring of past due accounts 

Reviews initial packages and completed applications to ensure all required paperwork is in file. Obtains missing documents for funding and logs financial information on tracking programs. 

Prepares quarterly and monthly analysis reports upon request by management; balances book to the general ledger. 

Tracks and processes past due reporting, contacts customers and reviews adherence to loan agreements 

Works with municipal brokers and is the liaison between the municipality and the bank 

Attends regular Regulatory Seminars and on-site Webinars:

Continuing education by attending BCG, regulatory and other offered training related to assigned responsibilities 

Pro-actively engage in a timely manner with implementation of compliance requirements, remediation of monitoring and examination findings 

Adherence to policies, procedures and regulatory banking requirements 

Prepare reviews for the Department's vendors per the Vendor Management Program

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS NEEDED TO PERFORM JOB FUNCTIONS: 

Responsible for administrative support work where incumbent has gained a working knowledge of municipal loan processing/funding. Moderate level of analytical and accounting background required. Office and organizational skills required. PC proficiency essential; Verbal and written communication skills essential. Prefer a candidate with two to three years of experience working in commercial lending. AA degree in business or equivalent preferred.

MENTAL DEMANDS: 

Ability to look-up and print municipal financial information off the interne 

Ability to organize and prioritize requests 

Ability to represent Westamerica in a positive/professional manner when dealing with brokers and municipal customers 

EQUIPMENT USED TO PERFORM FUNCTIONS: 

PC, copier, telephone, fax machine, 10-key calculator 

DECISION MAKING: (Give examples of decisions and recommendation made by incumbent) 

Determines which inquiries they can respond to and where to refer those questions which are beyond their level of expertise 

Determine how to respond to requests for funding. 

Ability to prioritize general office duties to ensure management receives assistance with projects or deadlines
