Special Requirements

  • U.S Citizenship required to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline.  Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, including advanced query optimization and performance tuning.
  • This position currently allows for remote work but may transition to an onsite requirement at our designated office location, Monday through Friday, five days per week. This policy is subject to change based on business needs and operational requirements.

What Your Day Might Include...

  • Design, implement, and maintain PostgreSQL databases ensuring high availability, reliability, and security. 
  • Perform query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning to enhance database efficiency. 
  • Manage database monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity planning to ensure optimal performance. 
  • Work with AWS RDS for database deployment, maintenance, and automation. 
  • Utilize AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) for database migration and replication. 
  • Collaborate with development teams to implement best practices for data modeling, schema design, and ETL processes. 
  • Work with AWS data services such as Kinesis, EventBridge, Athena, Glue, and Firehose to support data processing and analytics. 
  • Develop and maintain backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for mission-critical systems.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and governance following industry standards.

You'll Bring These Qualifications...

  • Must be a U.S. to obtain a DHS Public Trust Clearance
  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline.  Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years of experience with PostgreSQL, including advanced query optimization and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of indexing strategies, query execution plans, and database internals.
  • Experience managing AWS RDS for PostgreSQL in production environments.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS DMS for data migration and replication.
  • Proficiency in SQL, PL/pgSQL, and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation.
  • Strong experience with database backup, restore, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and optimize database performance under real-world constraints.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS data services (Kinesis, EventBridge, Athena, Glue, Firehose).
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Redis, etc.) in AWS environments.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL pipelines.
  • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices for database deployments.
