The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health is a member of the Senior Leadership Team that includes other organization-wide Assistant Directors, Directors, and the Executive Director. The Assistant Director of Behavioral Health supports the mission and values of Maple City Health Care Center (MCHCC) by coordinating the work of the Behavioral Health team.
Supervisory responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Behavioral Health Team: LCSWs, LSWs, BSWs, administrative supervision of psychiatric providers
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fosters a culture of high trust, collaboration, hospitality, mission-focus, continuous improvement, curiosity and learning across the organization. Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, patients, and community.
- Collaborates with other assistant directors, supervisees, and others to ensure patients are able to access care in a timely manner.
- Collaborates closely with other organizational leaders to ensure that patients are experiencing one MCHCC, regardless of point of entry or site of patient care
- Monitors efficiency and productivity of supervisees.
- Hires, supervises, reviews staff performance and ends employment for all supervisees in collaboration with HR
- Hosts needed meetings for BH teams in collaboration with team leads and coordinators.
- Coordinates Behavioral Health aspects of orientation for new therapists and social workers in collaboration with team leads and coordinators.
- Helps develop roles of team members to best meet the needs of the organization
- Helps coordinate needed trainings for teams in collaboration with team leads and coordinators.
- Functions as AD full time except for 1 weekly patient group or the equivalent of individual patient care (approximately 0.25 FTE in patient care).
- Works on integrating Behavioral and Social Health, and Social Determinants of Health with primary care, ensuring smooth integration and prompt access to community resources for patients
- Engages in relevant community partnerships with Oaklawn, CAPS, Bashor, Goshen College and other community partners
- Addresses patient grievances and issues related to supervisees and areas of operation under purview
- Refers matters relating to medical care, IT, Front Office/Call Center, site operations and facility to appropriate supervisors (This position does not include primary responsibility of these areas.)

Required Skills and Abilities:

Education and Experience:
- Master's level training with appropriate, independent licensure required
- Knowledge and/or training in trauma-informed care preferred, training supported
- Motivational Interviewing training preferred, training supported
- Experience in leadership or supervision required
- BLS required, training available
Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 10 pounds
- Ability to perform prolonged periods of time in front of a computer
