JOB TITLE

  • Teacher

MUST DO

  • Plan, organize, and implement the appropriate instructional programs with excellence in an environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their academic potential in a Christ-centered environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.  
  • Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and tests that are per established procedures.  
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.  
  • Use relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.  
  • Manage student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.  
  • Maintain discipline following the rules and disciplinary systems of the school and provide appropriate feedback on work.  
  • Encourage and monitor each student's progress and use the information to adjust teaching strategies.  
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of students' attendance, progress, and development.  
  • Update all necessary records accurately and completely as required by laws and school regulations.  
  • Prepare required reports on students and activities.  
  • Participate in department, school, district, and parent meetings.  
  • Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress and student needs.  
  • Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.  
  • Prepare the classroom for class activities.  
  • Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities.  
  • Observe and evaluate student’s performance and development.  
  • Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests, and assignments. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution or related teaching field. 
  • Ability to use sound judgment.
  • Build harmonious rapport and work cooperatively with and respond rapidly and appropriately to parents, students, and staff.
  • Proficient in promoting, listening, creative vision casting, and excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent organizational skills. 
  • Ability to foster teamwork and motivate others. 
  • Self-motivated in all areas pertinent to the position. 
  • Participate in extracurricular activities as directed. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs.
  • Required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 lbs.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday – Friday
  • 10-month schedule, per school calendar
  • Required to attend meetings outside the normal workday as needed
