WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Marketer/Intake Coordinator serves as a vital liaison between the Behavioral Care Unit and external organizations, including other hospitals, healthcare providers, community groups, and similar entities. This role focuses on building and nurturing relationships, promoting the unit’s services, and expanding its presence within the community. The Marketer/Intake Coordinator leverages their expertise in mental health and networking to drive referrals, collaborations, and awareness initiatives that align with the unit’s mission and objectives. The Marketer/Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in the initial assessment and coordinates the admission process for individuals seeking assistance. This position addresses incoming inquiries and conducts preliminary screenings to ensure prospective patients meet criteria for the unit. The employee will effectively communicate all inquiries to the covering provider. 


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


Community Engagement and Outreach:

  • Develop and implement strategic outreach plans to engage hospitals and long-term care facilities, healthcare professionals, community organizations, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Participate in community events, health fairs, seminars, and conferences to promote unit and foster collaborative relationships.

Relationship Building and Networking:

  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with key decision-makers, influencers, and referral sources within the healthcare and community sectors.
  • Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and networking activities to enhance visibility, credibility, and collaboration opportunities for the unit.

Referral Development and Management:

  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue referral opportunities from hospitals, clinics, physicians, therapists, and other healthcare providers.
  • Answer incoming calls related to admission inquiries promptly and professionally. Gather necessary information from callers to determine the nature and urgency of their needs.  
  • Collaborate with physician and other clinical team members to facilitate seamless admission and care transitions.

Marketing and Promotional Activities:

  • Coordinate marketing campaigns, promotional materials, and educational resources targeting healthcare professionals, organizations, and the broader community.
  • Leverage digital platforms, social media, and traditional marketing channels to amplify the unit's brand, services, and value proposition.

Market Analysis and Reporting:

  • Prepare regular reports, performance metrics, and actionable recommendations to inform marketing strategies, business development initiatives, and growth opportunities.

 

Intake Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of all interactions and assessments.  
  • Generate reports as required by organizational policies or regulatory standards.  

Collaboration and Teamwork:

  • Work closely with the marketing team, clinical staff, administrative personnel, and other internal departments to align outreach efforts, share insights, and achieve organizational goals.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams, committees, and projects to support organizational initiatives, enhance collaboration, and drive collective success.

Customer Service Excellence:

  • Ensure a compassionate, empathetic, and non-judgmental approach in all interactions.  
  • Address any concerns or feedback from callers with professionalism and sensitivity.   

Continuous Learning and Training:

Stay updated on mental health resources, services, and best practices.  

Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.  

Attendance to one's full scheduled shift is an essential function of this role -

Requirements

WHAT YOU NEED

 Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent - required 

     Associate degree in business administration, healthcare administration or related field – preferred 

     Bachelor’s degree in psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field preferred

Experience 

Minimum 1 year experience in marketing, business development, community outreach, or customer service, preferred

Skills · 

Knowledge of mental health disorders, treatment options, and community resources. 

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. 

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. 

Proficiency in using database systems. 

Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Programs and digital marketing platforms. 

Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help individuals in need.
