The Training and Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring the effective adoption, utilization, and optimization of the organization’s policies, procedures, and work flows. This position is responsible for developing and delivering comprehensive training programs, providing ongoing support to staff, and collaborating with relevant parties to ensure accurate and timely information dissemination. The Training and Development Specialist will leverage their expertise in training, instructional design, and healthcare technology to enhance staff proficiency and facilitate organizational success. 


Development and design of various training programs, i.e,, EMR Training Program Development: 

Design, develop, and implement EMR training programs, curricula, and materials tailored to various staff roles, departments, and proficiency levels. 

Collaborate with subject matter experts, IT teams, and vendors to ensure alignment with system functionalities, workflows, and best practices. 

Collaboration with SMEs: Work closely with subject matter experts from various departments to understand the content, objectives, and target audience of their training presentations. 

Facilitate meetings or brainstorming sessions to gather insights, clarify objectives, and ensure that the content aligns with organizational goals. 

Content Review and Enhancement: Review the content provided by SMEs to ensure clarity, accuracy, and relevance. 

Provide feedback and suggestions for improvements, including the incorporation of adult learning principles, engaging visuals, interactive elements, and real-world examples. 

Design and Development Support: Assist SMEs in transforming their content into engaging and effective training presentations. This may involve recommending suitable presentation tools, creating templates, or guiding the design process. 

Ensure that the presentations are visually appealing, easy to follow, and optimized for the intended delivery method (e.g., in-person, virtual, self-paced). 

Technical Assistance: Provide technical support to SMEs in using presentation software or other training platforms. 

Ensure that the presentations are compatible with the organization's technology infrastructure and accessible to all participants, including those with disabilities. 

Training Delivery Support: Assist SMEs during the delivery of training presentations by providing logistical support, managing resources, and addressing any unexpected challenges. 

Coordinate with other departments or external vendors, if needed, to ensure a seamless training experience. 

Feedback and Evaluation: Collect feedback from participants and SMEs after the training sessions to assess the effectiveness of the presentations. 

Analyze feedback data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations for future training initiatives. 

Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in training and presentation design. 

Regularly review and update the training presentation process to enhance quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. 

Responsible for other duties as assigned by leadership.

Attendance at scheduled work shifts is an essential function of this role.

Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree in education, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree or relevant certification is a plus 

High School education - required

Experience

Minimum 2 years’ experience in training and development  

Skills

Strong understanding of EMR functionalities, workflows, and clinical applications within a healthcare setting. 

Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills. 

Proficiency in instructional design, training methodologies, and learning management systems (LMS). 

Understands adult learning concepts 

Ability to utilize Training Software
