The Cleary Company, an award-winning design-build remodeling firm in Columbus, Ohio, seeks a Residential Interior Designer passionate about creating functional, beautiful living spaces. The ideal candidate will have experience from concept to execution in interior and exterior home design. The candidate will collaborate with clients to transform their vision into practical and aesthetically pleasing designs, optimizing space, layouts, and budgets. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with clients to assess their needs and preferences for residential interior design projects.

• Visit job sites to analyze space availability, design needs, and the purpose of space.

• Create customized design solutions for homes, including floor plans, and collaborate with the Design Consultant to synchronize material selections, color schemes, and cabinetry and interior detail layouts.

• Produce detailed design presentations and 3D renderings to effectively communicate ideas.

• Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely project execution.

• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring client satisfaction from start to finish.

• Stay updated with the latest trends in residential interior design and sustainable design practices.


Salary based on experience. 

This is a full-time in-person position (not a remote position). Schedule: In-Person, Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Residential Design or Residential Architecture.

• 3+ years of experience in drawing residential interior design.

• Proficiency in design software such as: Chief Architect, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite.

• Strong knowledge of spatial planning, color theory, and sustainable design principles.

• Excellent communication, project management, and client-facing skills.

• Advanced attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

• Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently

• Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

• Must be able to express ideas both visually and verbally and be comfortable presenting in front of large groups, including clients and colleagues.

• Initiative to anticipate problems and find solutions/must be organized, self-starter.

• Ability to work on all phases of design (Conceptual & Interior Design, Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration).

• Knowledgeable in Fixture and Finishes/Millwork drawings and detailing.

• Ability to coordinate and follow through with Consultants and Vendors from all trades involved in the project.

• Knowledge of local building/ADA codes and regulations.


Preferred Skills:

• Experience with luxury residential design or renovation projects.

Salary Description
$50,000 - $75,000
