Daycare Worker - St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish Child Development Center

The Child Development Center at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish seeks a candidate to provide end-of-day care to infants in our daycare center. The ideal candidate will enjoy caring for infants - changing diapers, feeding bottles, holding, comforting, playing, and also speaking with parents at pickup. This is a perfect part-time position for college students with busy schedules.

Summary of Essential Job Functions
This part-time position requires flexibility, adaptability, and a take charge attitude. As a care provider, you are expected to supervise children in your care at ALL times-ensuring health and safety; interact with children and encourage their involvement in activities while relating to them with courtesy, respect, patience, and acceptance; provide a warm and safe environment that is orderly, clean, sanitary, and appealing, while permitting the child to learn and explore.
You are required to maintain good communication with parents through the brightwheel daycare app and face-to-face encounters during pick-up.
Some of the other tasks you will be required to perform include laundry, sanitizing play areas, sanitizing toys/bibs/silverware, and taking out trash.
Employees must adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined by the Child Development Center, the Diocese of Austin, Health and Human Services (Licensing), and the Health Department to assure compliance for state certification and accreditation.
Ministerial Character
The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish (St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church – College Station, Texas) which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ’s mission present and enduring in the parish. In order to fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them.
Positions employed in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church – College Station, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church.
High School Diploma or GED
Able to work a 3-hour schedule between the hours of 3pm-6pm, 5 days a week, Monday-Friday.
Complete a minimum of 24 hours of required training each year (provided by center)
At least 6 months' experience in a licensed childcare facility or school setting OR be willing to obtain 8 hours of pre-service training
Clear FBI fingerprinting
Obtain CPR/First Aid Training
Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
