The company is headquartered in Baton Rouge, LA and has four manufacturing sites in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Troy, Ohio, East Berlin, Connecticut, and Lodi, New Jersey.


SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Corporate Controller will be an essential part of the Finance team.  The role will be responsible for providing leadership to the Finance organization in all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and tax compliance. The Corporate Controller will partner with functional leaders to develop and build the financial platform that supports the high standards and growth plan for the company. 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Set the strategic direction of the global accounting function to be aligned with the Company’s overall strategic goals; define and implement departmental goals, KPIs, policies and operating procedures, etc.
  • Provide accurate and timely consolidated financial statements on monthly, quarterly and annually; ensure appropriate accounting treatment for all unusual / material transactions
  • Establish accounting guidelines and accounting policies & procedures to ensure the integrity of the financial and compliance with U.S. GAAP & other local statutory requirements
  • Establish, implement and monitor appropriate internal controls
  • Lead the annual year-end audit process with the external auditors and actively manage the relationship with the external auditors in a way that optimizes its value to the company
  • Address various transaction related accounting requirements including: 
  • Opening balance sheet accounting, including coordination of third-party appraisal requirements
  • Establish new consolidation process which reflects the new legal entity structure.
  • Establish and maintain a fixed asset accounting process 
  • Establish and maintain efficient Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable processes
  • Liaison with outsourced tax providers on data requests and reporting requirements 
  • Develop processes and business partner relationships with internal and external groups that will improve the flow of financial information within the Company 
  • Monitor the operating results and budgets and make recommendations regarding cost reductions and profit improvements
  • Perform other duties & projects as assigned


EXPERIENCE / SKILLS REQUIRED: 

  • 10+ years of professional and progressive responsibility
  • Controller experience 
  • Experience managing a team
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and experience with  establishing accounting guidelines, internal controls and policies &      procedures
  • Consolidations experience
  • Experience partnering with business leaders
  • Public accounting firm experience is a plus
  • Manufacturing industry experience is a plus
  • Experience in a private equity environment is a plus

EDUCATION: 

· Undergraduate degree in Accounting; MBA is a plus 

· CPA certification
