Job Title: Automation Design Engineer

Reports to: Engineering Manager 


This role is not remote. It will be on-site in Chino, CA. This person will drive the development and design of automation systems, collaborate with internal teams to solve application issues, prepare sales quotes, and interface directly with clients. As a one-stop supplier of linear, profile, connection, and module technology, the role involves supporting customers with not only standard products from the catalog but also customized components and entire system solutions. 

Essential Functions

  • Interface directly with clients to address technical issues, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Develop automation system designs based on customer specifications and project requirements, utilizing the company’s range of technologies.
  • Prepare accurate sales quotes based on customer requirements, designs, and estimated costs.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Account Managers, Quality Engineers, and Manufacturing Engineers, to ensure timely and effective solutions for application problems.
  • Ensure designs meet all applicable engineering and industry standards, including NEC, OSHA, ASTM, UL 60601 standards, and any other relevant industry standards.
  • Enter and manage customer information and project details in the CRM system.
  • Maintain consistent communication with production team to ensure smooth transitions from design to production.
  • Use ERP/MRP system to review information.

Requirements

Skills Required to Perform the Duties of the Job:

Ability to develop customer-centric solutions by addressing complex technical issues.

Ability to use 3D modeling tools ((e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for automation system design.

Familiarity with the DriveWorks environment for design automation and configuration.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly.

Knowledge of applicable design and engineering standards, including safety regulations and industry-specific certifications.

Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple departments, including sales, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Ability to speak Spanish is an advantage, as the role involves interaction with clients in Mexico and the Americas.

Educational Requirements & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar engineering discipline.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in automation design engineering or related field.

$90,000 annually
