What You’ll Do 

As a Veterinary Oncology & Cardiology Technician at MVA, you’ll have the unique opportunity to be part of two essential service lines, ensuring top-tier care for pets with cancer and heart conditions. Your responsibilities will include: 

Oncology 

  • Prepare and administer chemotherapy or targeted therapies, adhering to strict safety protocols. 
  • Assist with advanced diagnostic procedures, such as imaging and lab work, to accurately stage disease and track treatment responses. 
  • Monitor patients for side effects, ensuring timely interventions and supportive care measures. 

Cardiology 

  • Aid in advanced cardiac diagnostics, including echocardiograms, ECGs, and radiographs. 
  • Position and sedate patients for procedures, monitoring vital signs and ensuring patient comfort. 
  • Provide post-procedural care, tracking recovery and reporting any changes to the cardiology team. 

Shared Responsibilities 

  • Maintain accurate medical records, documenting diagnostics, treatments, and patient status. 
  • Collaborate with board-certified specialists and fellow technicians in both departments for integrated patient care. 
  • Contribute to ongoing education, case discussions, and skill-building opportunities, staying current with the latest protocols. 
  • Uphold a calm, well-organized workspace, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are readily available.

Anticipated Schedule 

This is a full-time position with the following available schedule: 

  • Cardiology – Monday & Tuesday: 6:30 AM – 4:30 PM 
  • Oncology – Wednesday & Thursday: 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM 

Compensation 

  • Starting at $24.00/hour

Requirements

What We’re Looking For 

We’re seeking Veterinary Technicians who thrive when caring for animals, solving problems under pressure, and working collaboratively. Our ideal candidate has: 

  • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume emergency or ICU setting (preferred) 
  •  Experience with advanced monitoring, ventilator support, and critical patient stabilization 
  • CVT license (a plus) 
  • Proficiency in anesthesia, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement 
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate and provide empathetic client updates 
  • Broad knowledge base of small animal medicine 
  • A commitment to exceptional client service and clear, empathetic communication 
  • The ability to work independently while remaining an invaluable part of the team
